Udaipur : Atleast four persons were seriously injured after a fight broke out between cousins in a family over a house construction dispute at Sarangpura village in Kanod block of the district, said police. The incident took place on thursday morning and complaints have been registered at the Kanod police station. Two persons who sustained serious injuries were referred to Udaipur hospital.
Police said the clash between the cousins took place when a heated argument over construction of a roof shed by one of the party turned ugly. ” The dispute was ignited due to house construction work undertaken by Rameshwar Jat son of Savram Jat on his recently purchased land. His neighbour Pokhar Jat who also belonged to the same clan, had raised objection over the roof shed which he claimed was constructed against norms and blocked his view. On Thursday, the men of both the families entered into a fight after a verbal spat and attacked each other violently” SHO Gajsingh Sisodiya informed.
In the clash, Rameshawarlal(45), his father Savram (70), Pokharlal (42) and his brother Chunnilal (50) were inured. Seeing the family clash, villagers intervened and separated the warring men. Rameshwar and Savram have been referred to Udaipur. Both the parties have registered a criminal complaint of physical assault against each other which have been taken under sections 302,341, 323 and 147 of the IPC. Tension prevailed in the area after the incident and security was beefed up to prevent any untoward incident between the families. It may be noteworthy that on 1 September, at Banswara, a similar dispute between families over long standing property row had led to a savage triple murder that has caused communal tension in the area for two days.
