BJP intensifies campaigning for 2nd phase of polling

As campaigning for the second phase reaches a climax, the BJP has come out in force to win over the electorate. Party President Amit Shah led the BJP’s assault on the opposition, ably supported by other Party Stalwarts.

Amit Shah was in Gujarat on Monday and held a rally in Kodinar in Gir Somnath district. He listed the achievements of the NDA government.

Amit Shah hit out at Congress President Rahul Gandhi for his misplaced comments on the Rafale case in the Supreme Court. He alleged the Congress is in the habit of spreading falsehoods and repeating them.

Later, Amit Shah conducted roadshows in Banaskantha.


Elsewhere UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been campiagning vigouriously for the BJP.

On Monday, Adityanath was in Rourkela of Odisha. he accused the Congress of being “soft” on terrorists and Naxals and said only a strong and decisive government can keep misadventures of Pakistan and Chine in check.

Yogi Adityanath said that the Modi wave has grown stronger across the country. He requested the people of Odisha to vote for the BJP in both the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections.

The BJP targeted its opponents for raising questions on EVMs and said those who question EVMs are really apprehending defeat.


Meanwhile, the BJP has finalised the names of 7 more candidates for the Lok Sabha elections.

Bhojpuri actor Ravi Kishan is contesting from Gorakhpur, while Pravin Nishad, the incumbent MP from Gorakhpur, who quit the SP and joined the BJP is contesting from Sant Kabir Nagar.

The sitting MP Sharad Tripathi from Sant Kabir Nagar has been dropped. Mukut Bihari From Ambedkar Nagar,  Ramesh Bind from Bhadohi, Ramapati Ram Tripathi from Devaria also are part of the 21st list of Party Candidates.

Sangam Lal Gupta from Pratapgarh and KP Singh from Jaunpur have also been nominated. The Party nominees are continuing to file their nomination papers for the later phases of elections.

BJP candidate from Ayodhya Lallu Singh on Monday filed his papers, after a road show which included a large number of youth supporters riding motorcycles.

Campaign and filing of nominations are both go hand in hand as the electoral wagonwheel rolls on.

Campaigning concludes for the second phase on Tuesday and 97 seats go to the polls on Thursday. voting will be held in 97 seats under this phase.
