With the exam being so important and competitive, candidates need to keep some essential things in mind, which can make or break their performance in exam. Often candidates end up missing out on very common but significant things, which do not let them give their 100%. So, we bring you some important do’s and don’ts regarding the exam, which you should definitely consider.

Do’s for JEE Main

Most of you have been preparing for this exam for almost a year. Hence, these do’s will make sure that you give you best shot during the exam. Getting admission in an IIT or a top-notch college can be career defining moment for you. Since the stakes are so high, many candidates do get nervous during the exam. Well, the nervousness is quite imaginable, but never let this tension overpower you.

As you appear for JEE Main exam, you must ensure that you carry all the necessary documents and stationery (if needed) with you one day before the exam. Identity proof, photographs, pen & pencil and admit card should be kept ready so that you do not need to worry about anything on the last stage.

There will be activities like Identity verification and all, therefore, you do need to give yourself enough time for all these things as well. Stay on time and avoid last minute hassles.

While appearing for offline exam, check that you have got the entire question paper and there isn’t any printing mistake.  You must attempt all subjects in 3 rounds rather than attempting the paper subject wise. It is suggested that one must not allot separate or fixed time to each subject. Applicants are advised to attempt the questions in the order of ease of doing them, where ease depends upon both the ability to solve a question and time taken to solve it.

Don’ts for JEE Main

There are some things which you surely need to avoid as well. These mistakes can prove costly during the exam and therefore you do need to be aware of these. Firstly, during the final days, the best thing to do is to practice whatever you know and do not go for any new concept. Remember that JEE Main questions are about understanding the concepts deeply, rather than casually studying the concept. Studying a new concept at last minute can raise unnecessary doubts in mind and can reduce your performance. Therefore, do not touch any unknown concept in final days.

In JEE Main CBT, remember that the correct options are submitted by click of a mouse. It is important that questions are attempted in a sequence so as to remember your order of attempting the questions. It is advisable to take several Mock Test papers in Online Mode for JEE Main.

Before you start attempting the questions, make sure to scroll the screen and check if all questions are present. You can view all the pages through a tab on the top right side of the screen and select the subject you wish to take up first and click on the right option and save the option immediately. One must be careful to submit the paper only after all the questions in respective subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics have been dealt with.

Consider these tips as you appear for your exam. Stay focused and do well. All the best!
