Udaipur : Situation remained tensed in Bhinder town of Vallabhnagar block of the district, on wednesday as several organizations took out a rally to mark their protest over an incident of a minor girl’s elopement with a boy from other community. Forces from eight police stations were deployed anticipating unrest in the area,however no untoward incident was reported from anywhere.
Tight security was evident at major junctions and market places. A large procession was taken out in the morning from the main markets Kalikamata road, Nayakwadi, Sarafa Bazar, Rampol, mochiwada bus stand, hospital road to Kumharwada and youths raised slogans calling outfor solidarity. Most of the shops, banks and even road side tea stalls remained closed till evening, although the educational institutions were kept out of the bandh, however, students turnout was less due to the bandh call.
According to police sources, a minor girl belonging to Yadav community had gone missing on Monday and her family members alleged that she was mislead to runaway with a boy hailing from another community. A police case has been registered against the boy under sections 363, 366 and relevant sections under the Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Three teams have been constituted in order to trace the girl and the accused, police said.
