Ruckus at private hospital after authorities refuse to give body

Udaipur : Chaos prevailed for hours at Geetanjali hospital on Saturday after the authorities refused to hand a body to the relatives unless the hospital dues was settled. The poori family though being covered under Bhamashah yojna had paid 50 thousand rupees in cash in the morning at the time of admission, however were asked to settle the dues that had amounted to further 86 thousand rupees.

Kanhaiyalal, a 23 year old youth was hit by a vehicle and was taken to Geetanjali hospital for treatment. He succumbed to his injuries later noon. When his relatives claimed his body, the authorities refused to give it unless they said a bill of 86 thousand was settled. The aggrieved family members said that the deceased was covered under the free Bhamashah yojana for health services but the hospital authorities didnt pay heed. Later after much mediation finally the family paid 25 thousand rupees and left with the body.

Meanwhile Akhil Dave , GM marketing of the hospital said that the package that isn’t covered under the scheme has to be borne by the patients side.
