Tribal women to be trained to operate heavy machineries

‘Will get placement in spinning plants in Dungarpur’

Udaipur : In a bid to provide employment opportunities to lesser educated tribal women, the district administration in Dungarpur has recently inked an MoU with Shri Rajasthan Syntex Ltd wherein the latter would provide  training to selected 500 candidates. These women would be trained to handle textile machineries and after the successful completion of training, they would be employed in various spinning plants of the company. It is for the first time that women would be given technical training i,e handling heavy machines which is something rare, said Dungarpur collector Rajendra Bhatt.

The company has fixed some physical criteria like weight and height etc for the selection of suitable candidates who are strong enough to handle the heavy equipments. They would be shortlisted and selected through job fairs and in the first phase, some 500 women would be chosen for the training, Bhatt added. In general the training period would last in 2 months, however, it may differ from person to person depending on their acquirement of skill to operate the machines. The trainees would be employed according to the vacant positions in the spinning plants and they would receive monthly emoluments plus other benefits like gratuity, provident fund, bonus and paid leaves etc. the collector said.
